After a string of four wins, Aspermont's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to the Jayton Jaybirds 35-31. The Hornets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Jaybirds earlier this season, when they won 37-34.

Aspermont's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 11-6. As for Jayton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-10.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Hamlin the next time they take the court. Jayton will host Hamlin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Aspermont will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on January 24th.
