Softball Recap: Perkiomen School Has No Trouble Against Mercy Career & Technical

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mercersburg Academy, Perkiomen School was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over Mercy Career & Technical. The high-scoring effort was just what the Panthers needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Gabby Samy was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Samy was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 3-for-5.

In other batting news, Lily Kovaleski was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, eight RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Cam McQuade, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

The win got Perkiomen School back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Perkiomen School will face off against Girard College at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Mercy Career & Technical, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Villa Victoria Academy at 3:45 p.m. on May 5.
