Football Recap: Marion County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Marion County had lost four straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-5 to make it five. They were outmatched by the Taylor County Vikings and fell 54-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

As for Taylor County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-2. That 54 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Taylor County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Leland Holder led the charge by throwing for 413 yards and three TDs while picking up 15.3 yards per attempt. The dominant performance also gave Holder a new career-high in rushing yards (24). Jakevion Towns was in the mix as well, providing Taylor County with two scores.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marion County will welcome Chattahoochee County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Taylor County, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Schley County at 7:30 p.m. on October 3.
