Softball Recap: North Kingstown Find Success

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but North Kingstown ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Prout Crusaders 12-11. This was payback for the Skippers, who suffered an 8-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

North Kingstown let Mia D'Andrea and Rosemarie Hayward run wild. D'Andrea scored four runs while going 4-for-4, while Hayward went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four runs gave D'Andrea a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Peralta, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 1-for-4.

North Kingstown now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Prout, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. North Kingstown is set to take on their familiar foe Ponaganset at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Prout will square off against rival East Providence at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
