Gavin Bicher was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5. Those runs were his first of the season. Braden Gettle was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Eastern Lebanon County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Northern Lebanon hadn't done well against Cocalico recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Northern Lebanon was the clear victor by a 13-2 margin over Cocalico. With that win, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 7.2 runs per game.
Brian Bicksler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Northern Lebanon got a massive performance out of Adrian Gonzalez, who scored three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Gonzalez a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Connor Stoltz, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
The victory got Eastern Lebanon County back to even at 3-3. As for Northern Lebanon, their record now sits at 4-1.
Eastern Lebanon County's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's contest. Eastern Lebanon County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Northern Lebanon, though, as they've been averaging only 0.4 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Eastern Lebanon County continue to outrun the ball?
