Basketball Recap: Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy Takes a Loss

Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 67-64 heartbreaker at the hands of the Southern Alamance Patriots. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (57), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southern Alamance to victory, but perhaps none more so than Riley Warren, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 23 rebounds. Warren is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Drayden Brewer, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 17 points and six rebounds.

Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Southern Alamance, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-9.

Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 91-56 victory against Montgomery Central on the 28th. As for Southern Alamance, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 64-52 win against North Moore on the 28th.
