Football Game Preview: Calvary Baptist Academy Cavaliers vs. Union Parish Farmers + Official Tickets

The Calvary Baptist Academy Cavaliers will challenge the Union Parish Farmers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Union Parish will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Calvary Baptist Academy extended their winning streak to four on Friday. The Cavaliers really took it to Homer for the full four quarters, racking up a 41-12 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cavaliers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Pelicans are ranked 170th).

Calvary Baptist Academy relied on the efforts of Hudson Price, who threw for 175 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 73.7% of his passes, and Z'Ryan Miles, who gained 56 total yards and two touchdowns.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Braylun Huglon, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Calvary Baptist Academy's defense stepped up as well, laying out Delario Jones Jr. three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Mason Gourley, Jacob Tibbett, and Chance Freeman, who each picked up one sack apiece. Calvary Baptist Academy got some further help from Gourley: he picked up a sack and made 13 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Union Parish humbled North Caddo with a 46-16 victory.

Calvary Baptist Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Union Parish, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Calvary Baptist Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Union Parish when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 24-14. Do the Cavaliers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Farmers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
