Preview: South Colonels vs. Burncoat Patriots

South has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Burncoat Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

South suffered their biggest loss yet this season last Tuesday. They took a serious blow against North, falling 65-38. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points South has scored all season.

Meanwhile, Burncoat was beaten by North 87-40 on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Burncoat can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while North is ranked first).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Cheyton Marshall, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Jean Carlos Pimental, who scored eight points.

South has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Burncoat, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

Everything came up roses for South against Burncoat in their previous meeting on January 3rd as the team secured a 78-44 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for South since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
