Volleyball Recap: Sonoraville Victorious

Sonoraville lost to Pickens back in August of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Phoenix came out on top against the Dragons by a score of 2-0.

While Sonoraville won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-22.

Brylee Cordell paced Sonoraville's offense, picking up ten kills. Cordell got some help from Jenica Glosson and her 12 assists. Glosson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

The victory got Sonoraville back to even at 1-1. As for Pickens, they dropped their record down to 3-2 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sonoraville is headed away from home for the first time to take on Northwest Whitfield at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pickens, they will head out to square off against Woodland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
