Softball Recap: Singer Takes a Loss

Singer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Lacassine Cardinals, falling 13-6. If the Hornets were looking for revenge after losing 8-5 to the Cardinals when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Landri Sandifer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Breeanna Mitchell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Singer's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Lacassine, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Singer will challenge Westlake at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lacassine, they will head out to take on South Cameron at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Cameron has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.33 runs per game on average), something Lacassine will no doubt try to take advantage of.
