Recap: Jackson Vikings vs. Pinckney Pirates
The Jackson Vikings won the last time they faced the Pinckney Pirates, and things went their way on Friday too. Jackson snuck past Pinckney with a 54-48 victory. Given Jackson's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while Pinckney is ranked 549th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jackson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Koronnis Davis, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristen Cawthon, who scored 12 points.
Jackson's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Pinckney, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-9.
Jackson will head out on the road to challenge Chelsea at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pinckney, they will be playing at home against Adrian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
