Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pius XI Catholic). They came out on top against the Wauwatosa East Red Raiders by a score of 69-62 on Saturday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Popes as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Pius XI Catholic's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Wauwatosa East, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Pius XI Catholic will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Augustine Prep at 5:45 p.m. on December 28th. Augustine Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Pius XI Catholic likes a good challenge. As for Wauwatosa East, they will finish 2024 at home by hosting Brown Deer at 4:00 p.m. on December 28th.
