Softball Recap: Cascade Champions vs. Moore County Raiders
Cascade lost against Moore County back in March of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Cascade fell just short of Moore County by a score of 3-1. The game marked the Champions' lowest-scoring match so far this season.
Jocelyn Laughlin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Caroline Parker was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Those stolen bases marked the first that she snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kloey Carter, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Cascade's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Moore County, the win also got them back to even at 3-3.
Looking ahead, Cascade will challenge St. George's at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Moore County, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Eagleville at 6:00 p.m.
