Illini Bluffs has gone a perfect 7-0 against Cuba/Spoon River Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Tigers will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. Illini Bluffs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so Cuba/Spoon River Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Illini Bluffs is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Brimfield just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 1-0. The Tigers were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the six games prior), but the Indians' pitchers proved too tough.

Cuba/Spoon River Valley never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Astoria/VIT on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 14-2 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kacie White made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. White was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Emma Probyn was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Joley McLaughlin, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Cuba/Spoon River Valley's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-6. As for Illini Bluffs, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 11-5.

Everything went Illini Bluffs' way against Cuba/Spoon River Valley when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Illini Bluffs made off with a 13-6 victory. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
