Softball Recap: Benzie Central Takes a Loss

Benzie Central dropped their record down to 13-5 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Traverse City West Titans by a score of 8-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Huskies of the 7-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2017.

As for Traverse City West, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-13 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games.

For Traverse City West's part, Maddie Fancy was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Fancy a new career-high. Domino Earle was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Benzie Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Traverse City West, they will challenge St. Francis at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
