Hagerty is 9-1 against Seminole since February of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Hagerty Huskies are taking a road trip to square off against the Seminole Seminoles at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hagerty has four straight victories, Seminole has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
In Friday's Canine Competition, Hagerty prevailed. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Deltona on Friday, sneaking past 3-1. That's two games straight that the Huskies have won by exactly two runs.
Alexis Willimason looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Ana Roman was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Seminole's offense. They lost 10-0 to Windermere on Friday.
Seminole saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Molly Green, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Green's first of the season.
Even though they lost, Seminole hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts every time they've taken the field this season.
Hagerty pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Seminole, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Seminole's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hagerty hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .348. It's a different story for Seminole, though, as they've only averaged .228. Will they be able to contain Hagerty's hitters?
Hagerty came out on top in a nail-biter against Seminole in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hagerty since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
