Basketball Game Preview: Harvard Cardinals vs. Kenesaw Blue Devils

Harvard is 1-9 against Kenesaw since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. Both will face off at 7:00 p.m. without much rest having both just played.

Harvard is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 12th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They were dealt a 62-15 defeat at the hands of Red Cloud. The Cardinals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-7.

Meanwhile, Kenesaw had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They claimed a resounding 67-37 victory over the Falcons. The Blue Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 30 points or more this season.

Harvard better keep an eye on Adam Denkert. He was instrumental in Kenesaw's win, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards. The contest was Denkert's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Wagoner, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points.

Kenesaw smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive matches.

Kenesaw's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points per game. As for Harvard, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.

Harvard took a serious blow against Kenesaw when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 77-7. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Denkert, who went 8 of 11 on his way to 16 points and four steals.
