Basketball Recap: Jaamil Houston Key Part of Team Effort in Hawks Win

Red Oak saw some tournament action on Friday. They strolled past the Reedy Lions with points to spare, taking the game 66-51. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.

Red Oak's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaamil Houston, who posted nine points. That's the most points Houston has posted since back in December of 2024. Chaston Odhams also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assists of the season.

Red Oak was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Reedy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Joshua Johnson, who put up 18 points. Another player making a difference was Kai Johnson, who had ten points and six boards.

The victory got Red Oak back to even at 3-3. As for Reedy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Red Oak has already played their next matchup, a 67-64 loss against Horn on the 22nd. As for Reedy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 63-48 win against Marcus on the 22nd.
