Softball Recap: Malad Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Malad extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping their season record up to 13-2 in the process. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Marsing Huskies a 14-0 shutout. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by seven runs or more this season.

Riglee Peterson was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Shulz, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Malad kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive matchups.

As for Marsing, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7. Having soared to a lofty 28 runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

On Marsing's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lily Thoene, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Looking ahead, Malad will take on Salmon in a tournament on Friday. As for Marsing, they will challenge Ririe at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
