Football Game Preview: La Salle Falcons vs. Gresham Gophers + How To Watch

Two dominant signal callers in Sterling Dressel and Liam Arnold are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The La Salle Falcons will be playing at home against the Gresham Gophers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Friday, La Salle was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 27-22 to Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sean Fennell put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 105 yards and one score.

Even if they lost, La Salle's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Tony Luna, Dom Delucia, and Jack Schweitzer, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Meanwhile, Gresham had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 14-7.

La Salle better keep an eye on Avery Lo. He was instrumental in Gresham's win, picking up 98 receiving yards and one touchdown, while also punching in one TD on the ground. That's the most receiving yards Lo has posted since back in September of 2024.

Gresham didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Lo and Trey Darling.

Gresham's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for La Salle, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. La Salle has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 193.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Gresham struggles in that department as they've been averaging 175.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
