Stratton took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They put the hurt on the Cheyenne Wells Tigers with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won six in a row.
Stratton never let Cheyenne Wells on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-11, 27-25.
Stratton found their leader in sophomore Kaylynn Brandon, who had three digs and three aces.
Stratton was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cheyenne Wells only served four aces.
Cheyenne Wells' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brinley Hyle, who had 12 assists and two aces.
Having lost for the first time this season, Cheyenne Wells fell to 2-1.
Stratton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Deer Trail on the 2nd. As for Cheyenne Wells, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Idalia on the 4th.
