Softball Recap: Brewbaker Tech Triumphs

After low-scoring totals in their previous three matchup, Brewbaker Tech brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Marbury Bulldogs 16-15. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Rams as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Kyra Wallace and Kaymarria Bandy did most of the damage at the plate: Wallace went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Bandy went 3-for-5 with one home run and five RBI. Those three runs gave Wallace a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaquayla Jarrett, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Brewbaker Tech lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Brewbaker Tech picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 8-11. As for Marbury, their record now sits at 7-16.

Coming up, Brewbaker Tech will square off against Elmore County at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Marbury, they will be playing at home against Chilton County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
