Basketball Recap: Make It Eight in a Row for Plentywood

Plentywood waltzed into their contest on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They blew past the MonDak [Westby/Grenora] Mon-Dak Thunder 67-20. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Mon-Dak Thunder are ranked 148th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Plentywood's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for MonDak [Westby/Grenora], this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plentywood will challenge Savage on February 14th. Savage is on a three-game streak of home wins, Plentywood a six-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. MonDak [Westby/Grenora] will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Culbertson at 5:30 p.m. on February 22nd.
