Volleyball Recap: Jay Starts off Right with Win over Walton

Jay had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Walton Braves on Monday. The Royals not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 23, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-10, 25-16.

Darby Godwin paced Jay's offense, picking up 15 kills. Godwin got some help from Bailey Lowry and her 16 assists. Lowry was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jay will face off against Rocky Bayou Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Walton, they will challenge St. John Paul II at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
