Basketball Game Preview: Monarch Coyotes vs. Niwot Cougars

The Monarch Coyotes will challenge the Niwot Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monarch is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.3 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Monarch came up short against Legacy and fell 58-51. The Coyotes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite their loss, Monarch saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Logan Laverty, who posted 14 points and eight steals, was perhaps the best of all. Those eight steals gave Laverty a new career-high. Justin Myers was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, Niwot was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They lost to Silver Creek at home by a 56-42 margin.

Niwot's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Monarch, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
