Soccer Game Preview: Old Town vs. Caribou

Old Town hasn't had much luck against Caribou recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Coyotes are taking a road trip to challenge the Vikings at 2:00 p.m. Old Town has given up an average of 7.4 goals per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Old Town fell victim to Orono and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 7-0 to the Riots. While losing is never fun, Old Town can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine soccer rankings (they are ranked 64th, while Orono are ranked 15th).

Caribou hadn't beaten Presque Isle on the road since October 16, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. The Vikings narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Wildcats 3-2. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 13, 2022, but that streak is no more.

Caribou's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Old Town, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Old Town suffered a grim 10-2 defeat to Caribou when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Coyotes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
