Softball Game Preview: Fairdale Bulldogs vs. Jeffersontown Chargers

The Fairdale Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Jeffersontown Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Fairdale came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 16-5 to Spencer County.

Fairdale saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Krebs, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Krebs is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Lilly Hernandez was another, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Jeffersontown gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Seneca as Jeffersontown made off with a 16-0 victory. The Chargers not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 27, 2024.

Fairdale now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Jeffersontown, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.

Fairdale was able to grind out a solid victory over Jeffersontown in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, winning 9-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fairdale since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
