Soccer Recap: Pleasant Grove Comes Up Short

Pleasant Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 4-1 to the Pittsburg Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 724th, while the Pirates are ranked 212th).

Pleasant Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14-2. As for Pittsburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Pleasant Grove will venture away from home to take on North Lamar at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pittsburg, their homestand will continue as they prepare to take on Liberty-Eylau at 9:00 a.m. on Monday. Liberty-Eylau is coming into the contest with eight straight losses on the road, meaning Pittsburg will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
