Baseball Game Preview: Kiski Area Cavaliers vs. Fox Chapel Foxes

Kiski Area hasn't had much luck against Fox Chapel recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Cavaliers will host the Foxes at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

11 must be Kiski Area's lucky number: they beat Penn Hills with that score not once but twice on Wednesday. The Cavaliers beat the Indians by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cavaliers.

Meanwhile, Fox Chapel had just enough and edged out West Allegheny 4-2 on Monday.

Jeremy Haigh made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over 6.2 innings pitched. Haigh was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

Haigh wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kris Bandurski, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Fox Chapel has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Kiski Area, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-13.
