Softball Recap: Pisgah Wins Going Away Against West Lincoln

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Pisgah walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over the West Lincoln Bears on Thursday. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matches by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Maddi Byrd, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Holeman, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Pisgah is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for West Lincoln, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-17.

Looking ahead, Pisgah will head out on the road to take on Clarkdale at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Dragons surely won't give up without a fight. West Lincoln does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
