Ripon Christian extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Jake Vander Veen. Ripon Christian came out on top against Downey by a score of 58-49 on Thursday with plenty of help from Vander Veen, who posted 24 points. The matchup was his ninth in a row with at least 18 points.

Despite the loss, Downey still got an impressive performance from Solomon Paris, who had 16 points along with seven boards and four blocks. Downey is 3-1 when Paris posts 15 or more points, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Emerson DiGiore, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.

Ripon Christian's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Downey, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Ripon Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-50 defeat against Central Catholic on the 12th. As for Downey, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-53 loss against Burbank on the 12th.
