Baseball Game Preview: Gleason Bulldogs vs. McKenzie Rebels

Gleason hasn't had much luck against McKenzie recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Gleason Bulldogs will venture away from home to square off against the McKenzie Rebels at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Gleason has three straight victories, McKenzie has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Gleason will bounce into Friday's game after beating West Carroll, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Gleason came out on top against West Carroll by a score of 10-6 on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The team relied heavily on Aiden Legens, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Keeling, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, McKenzie came up short against Henry County on Tuesday and fell 7-3.

McKenzie's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Gleason, their win bumped their record up to 3-5-1.

Gleason suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to McKenzie when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Gleason avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
