Softball Recap: Amherst Starts Season with Victory Against Westfield Area

Amherst had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They won by a run and slipped past the Westfield Area Pioneers 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Falcons have posted since April 16, 2024.

Westfield Area dropped their record down to 1-2 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Amherst and Westfield Area will both be playing Wittenberg-Birnamwood the next time they take the field. The Falcons will host the Chargers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Pioneers will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
