Economedes is 6-1 against San Benito since January of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Economedes Jaguars will face off against the San Benito Greyhounds at 6:30 p.m. San Benito took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Economedes, who comes in off a win.

Economedes will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal last Friday, then bounced right back against Weslaco on Tuesday. Economedes was the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over Weslaco. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, San Benito fell victim to Edinburg North and their airtight defense on Monday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 298th, while the Cougars are ranked 103rd).

Economedes has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 46 goals over those 12 contests. San Benito has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9-2 record this season.

Economedes took their victory against San Benito when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 5-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Economedes since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
