Softball Recap: Fairfield Triumphs

Fairfield's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Foothill Mustangs by a score of 11-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won three games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Karli Robinson made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Aubrianna Beacham was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Leilani Corey was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Fairfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Foothill only managed three.

Fairfield now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Foothill, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.

Fairfield has already played their next contest, a 31-0 victory against Armijo on the 24th. As for Foothill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 25-5 win against Valley on the 24th.
