Basketball Game Preview: Curtis Warriors vs. New Dorp Central Cougars

The Curtis Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the New Dorp Central Cougars at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Curtis took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They strolled past Wagner with points to spare, taking the game 48-31.

Meanwhile, New Dorp had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 70-55 win over the Pirates.

New Dorp's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.3 points per game. As for Curtis, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Curtis came up short against New Dorp in their previous meeting on December 4th, falling 51-39. Can Curtis avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
