Basketball Recap: Belleville West Takes a Loss

Belleville West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 79-14 loss at the hands of the Edwardsville Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Maroons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 395th, while the Tigers are ranked 35th).

Belleville West's loss dropped their record down to 7-21. As for Edwardsville, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-9.

Coming up, Belleville West will challenge O'Fallon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edwardsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
