Softball Recap: Durham Academy Cavaliers vs. Durham School of the Arts Bulldogs

Durham Academy can bid farewell to their 15-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Durham School of the Arts Bulldogs as the Durham Academy Cavaliers made off with a 16-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cavaliers considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Stella Teis made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Cassie Stallone was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Maya Patel, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Durham Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .852. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Durham School of the Arts only posted an OBP of .333.
