On Wednesday, Mojave got the win against Owens Valley by a conclusive 3-0.
Meanwhile, Lone Pine came tearing into Friday's match with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Muckers.
Lone Pine had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-17.
Lone Pine's win came from a few key players Mojave will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Yesenia Alegre, who had 20 kills, four digs, three aces, and two blocks. She has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more kills the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Camila Martinez, who had six kills and five digs.
Lone Pine was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in seven consecutive contests.
Lone Pine now has a winning record of 12-11-2. As for Mojave, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11-1.
