Baseball Recap: Tehachapi Gets the Win

Tehachapi won the last time they faced Bakersfield and things went their way on Friday too. The Tehachapi Warriors came out on top against the Bakersfield Drillers by a score of 8-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Derek Cardenas made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. Cardenas was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Bryce Segale and Wade Brooks did most of the damage at the plate: Segale scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Brooks went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. Cyler Hoofard was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Tehachapi was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bakersfield only posted a batting average of .296.

Tehachapi's record is now 2-0. As for Bakersfield, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Tehachapi will face off against Eastside at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Bakersfield, they will square off against Frontier at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
