Hilltop won the last time they faced Castle Park and Leo Mendoza did his part to make sure it happened again. The Lancers claimed a resounding 57-6 win over the Trojans thanks in part to Mendoza, who rushed for 108 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries. He also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Hilltop is 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Hilltop, racking up 13 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Julian Moran, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

The victory got Hilltop back to even at 3-3. As for Castle Park, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Hilltop and Castle Park will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Lancers see the field they'll take on Southwest SD at 6:30 p.m. on October 10. As for Castle Park, their break will end when they face Olympian at 6:30 p.m. on October 10.
