Football Recap: Jackson Central Merry Piles Up the Points Against Gibson County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jackson Central Merry). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Gibson County Pioneers 41-0. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Cougars considering their seven-point performance the game before.

With the win, Jackson Central Merry broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5. As for Gibson County, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Jackson Central Merry and Gibson County will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Cougars see the field they'll take on Liberty Tech Magnet at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Gibson County, their break will end when they face Union City on the 17th.
