Baseball Recap: Kingston Takes a Loss

Newburgh Free Academy hit Kingston with a four-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers fell 7-3 to the Goldbacks. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Goldbacks: they've now lost four in a row.

Kingston saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wade Holsapple, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Kingston's record is now 2-12. As for Newburgh Free Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Kingston is set to challenge their familiar foe Middletown at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Newburgh Free Academy will take on rival Monroe-Woodbury at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Goldbacks 3.8, the Crusaders 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
