Recap: Kalama Chinooks vs. Napavine Tigers
The Kalama Chinooks suffered their biggest loss since December 9, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against Napavine, falling 83-34. While losing is never fun, Kalama can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while Napavine is ranked 20th).
Despite the loss, Kalama saw an underclassman step up: Henry Sigfridson scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Drew Schlangen, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Kalama has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. As for Napavine, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.
Kalama will head out on the road to take on Adna at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Napavine won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Winlock at 12:00 p.m. on January 20th. Winlock is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
