Baseball Game Preview: Skyridge Falcons vs. Westlake Thunder

For the second straight game, Skyridge will face off against Westlake. The Falcons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Thunder at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Skyridge has four straight wins, Westlake has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Skyridge came out on top against Westlake on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run seventh inning. The Falcons put the hurt on the Thunder with a sharp 13-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Mack Fowers tossed a big game, tossing 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits.

At the plate, Miles Robinson was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Skyridge: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Hank Grover, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Skyridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 8-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Westlake's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Skyridge, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
