Basketball Recap: Forest Hill Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when Forest Hill took on Seminole Ridge on Monday. The Falcons were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to the Hawks. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Seminole Ridge found their leader in sophomore Jacob Green, who posted 14 points and three steals. Green is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Camren Beauchamp was another key player, putting up nine points.

This is the second loss in a row for Forest Hill and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Seminole Ridge, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, Forest Hill won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Village Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 61.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Seminole Ridge, they will be playing at home against West Boca Raton at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
