Softball Recap: Deer Valley Comes Up Short

Deer Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against the Antioch Panthers, falling 12-1. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Wolverines couldn't push the score so high this time.

Deer Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rosalyn Zermeno, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Deer Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Antioch, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11.

Coming up, Deer Valley will host Pittsburg at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.63 runs per game on average), something the Wolverines will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Antioch, they will face off against Heritage at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
