McClatchy is still undefeated this season after their contest against Cordova on Friday, but Cordova came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Lions skirted past the Lancers 2-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-1 on Wednesday.

McClatchy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Sandmeier, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that Sandmeier has hit this season.

McClatchy's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Cordova, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coming up, McClatchy will head out to square off against West Park at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 1, the Panthers 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Cordova, they will take on El Camino at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
