Volleyball Game Preview: Port Clinton Redskins vs. Vermilion Sailors

Port Clinton hasn't had much luck against Vermilion recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Redskins will head out on the road to challenge the Sailors at 6:30 p.m.

Port Clinton lost 3-0 to St. Joseph Central Catholic on Monday.

Port Clinton took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-15, 25-19.

Vermilion had won two straight games and Haley Stepp did her part to make it three on Saturday. The Sailors walked away with a 3-1 victory over Lorain thanks in part to Stepp, who had 21 digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Vermilion had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-20, 25-22, 25-14.

Vermilion's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Port Clinton, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-16.

Port Clinton might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Vermilion in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Redskins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
