Baseball Recap: Creekside Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Creekside and St. Joseph Academy meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. Creekside came out on top against St. Joseph Academy by a score of 8-5. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 4-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Nicholas Romeu looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

On the hitting side, Connor Balazic was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Zack Jackson, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Creekside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Creekside has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. With the loss, St. Joseph Academy broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-2-1.

Creekside didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Clay on the 27th. As for St. Joseph Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 6-5 defeat against Christ's Church Academy on the 27th.
